So you want to know more about me eh? Well lets see.
I’ve been writing for quite some time. It started when I was a little girl and wanted to create youth adult books like my idol of the time — Francine Pascal, creator of the Sweet Valley High School books. But after living life and finding out that life (and love) are not as easy or as sappy as they are in the books, I became a realist and gave up that dream.
In 2000, after reading sites like Stileproject (which is now a major porn site) and Fark, I began blogging on a friend’s server called Brutality and the blog name was Chubbles. Back then, in addition to writing, I even did the HTML page layout by hand! Eventually the Brutality server went down and I moved on once again. I traveled back to my hometown and then did a stint in Montreal as a free-loving Libertarian Socialist.
I came back to the Bay Area with the intent of getting a degree in Editing so I could resume my free-loving life in Montreal as a freelance editor. I got the degree but never moved back (maybe one day).
In the process of settling down and getting a degree, I also began Chubbles.org as an extension of my free-loving Libertarian Socialist lifestyle mindset: Be passionate, be informed, be a follower but know what you’re following and why.
In the process of creating Chubbles, I learned a couple of things about blogging and marketing. That plus my hobby of online moderating (since 1997) made me pretty “hip” to this whole Web game.
In 2007, I ran a gossip site for an Internet startup that was eventually brought by CBS Interactive. For the first 6 months I was the community, the production editor, and the social media marketing intern. (I made the last title up but seriously we are a new field and it’s damn hard to explain our role without making up titles like this.)
And then I became the editorial coordinator for a parenting blog ran by a large corporation. Kinda weird considering I’m the type that used to read Stileproject; but life is strange like that isn’t it?
And now, I’m just an unemployed writer/editor trying to find a job like everyone else in the economy. Wish me luck!
p.s. If you would like to talk to me about what I can do for your social media projects, business ventures, etc. Send me an email at email@example.com and I’ll get back to you.
