Suffering From Strong Black Woman Syndrome?

Strong Black Woman syndrome: We’re notorious for taking care of others, knocking out problems, and dealing with adversity with nary a tear or a dent in the old armor, while standing triumphantly with our red boots and cape blowing in the wind. Black women are raised to be strong: to deal with it and move on. And while that sounds great, it keeps us from being whole human beings with a full suite of emotions including fear, vulnerability, and an I-don’t-know-how-I’m-gonna-make-it-ness (that may not actually be the official term!) that everyone experiences at times.
